About Me

I'm a certified personal fitness training through the American Council on Exercise. I specialize in home fitness and roller derby fitness. I enjoy teaching people how to start, maintain, and live a healthy lifestyle. I work one-on-one or in small groups. Anywhere can become your gym!

I live in Fort McMurray Alberta with my husband. We have lived there since 2010, and thoroughly enjoy the community! Fort McMurray is a small city located about 500 km North of Edmonton. It's rather remote, but it is an ever growing community, which makes it very exciting to live in. I enjoy participating in sports, playing games, and costume making.

My parents believed in participation in sports and always encouraged me. They enrolled me in gymnastics when I was about 3 or 4. Since then I've always been involved in sports and athletics. I did several years in Hapkido (Korean martial arts), which was followed by wrestling. When I went off to University I had less time to commit to the level of competition I had become used to, so I switched over to coaching wrestling. Once I moved to Fort McMurray I switched again and joined roller derby. As you can tell, all the sports I did before were individual competition and also on my own two feet. Roller derby was very new in many ways to me! Turns out it is a great match, and I am still heavily involved in roller derby both as a skater and a coach.

My athletic filled life is what lead me to personal training. I got my certification in early 2016. A decision that took a year of thinking and a drastic career switch. I already had coaching experience, and was running some off skates training for my roller derby team. I realized it was something I enjoyed, so I started researching. After finalizing my decision that I wanted to be a personal trainer, I started studying for my certification test. Going over the human anatomy brought back flashes of High School biology, but after 5 months, I felt prepared and wrote and passed my certification exam. It is a decision I am happy I made and am excited to grow as a trainer and watch my clients succeed.
